Gigi Hadid, a model whose face even my uncles recognize, is now taking her talents (handstands, etc.) to your television screens — but only if you live in Canada. On Tuesday, Canadian music network Much announced on Twitter that the 21-year-old will host its 2016 Much Music Video Awards on Sunday, June 19 in Toronto.

Hadid isn't a total stranger to the event — she appeared as a presenter last year, wearing the personalized Mikhael Kale jacket shown above. She's certainly done her fair share of television work, too, starting with sporadic appearances on "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" and working her way up to cameos in BMW commercials and performances on "Lip Sync Battle." And Hadid's no stranger to awards shows in general, having just recently walked the red carpet at the MTV Movie Awards earlier this month. (There was also that time she snubbed human bear hug Harry Styles at the American Music Awards in November, which is neither here nor there.) In sum: News of this MMVAs gig doesn't come as much of a surprise.

But — we have to ask — does that mean it'll make for good television?

We pose this question because, historically, models have had lukewarm experiences working on such projects in the past. There's exceptions, of course, with Tyra Banks' spells on both "America's Next Top Model" and "The Tyra Banks Show" being two of them, as well as the original "House of Style," which aired in 1989 and was co-hosted by Cindy Crawford. Many other model-adjacent projects have been short-lived, as was the case with Karlie Kloss and Joan Smalls' "House of Style" reboot; others, like when Kendall Jenner flubbed on-stage at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards, were just plain awkward. Though in the latter case, that may not have mattered to VH1: Jenner is reportedly being considered to replace Banks as the host of the upcoming "ANTM" revival, according to Hollywood Life.

Non-Canadians can watch Hadid's first official turn as emcee by streaming the MMVAs at Much.com come June. We'll get back to you then on our verdict.
