BARBARA FERREIRA IS COMPLETELY UNRETOUCHED IN HER NEW MISSGUIDED+ CAMPAIGN

Last we checked in on Barbara "Barbie" Ferreira, she had just wrapped up a knockout New York Fashion Week, appearing in Rachel Antonoff's Betty and Veronica-themed presentation as well as on the runway for Addition Elle. She told us that her post-NYFW plans were anything but quiet, with plans to zip over to the U.K. for a shoot for Missguided

Nearly a month after that conversation, Ferreira's Missguided project has finally come to fruition: On Monday, the British fast fashion retailer revealed the fall 2016 campaign for its Missguided+ collection, sized 12-20, which Ferreira fronts. Ferreira, who signed with agency Wilhelmina Curve in 2015, was an intentional casting choice for reasons that go beyond her signature brown doe eyes and lush eyebrows. Just as Missguided+ is here to "empower girls to dress however they want, regardless of size," according to a press release, Ferreira is "unashamed and confident within her skin," a perfect embodiment of the Missguided+ loud-and-proud ethos.

In a statement, Ferreira said:

"I LOVED WORKING WITH MISSGUIDED ON THIS NEW CAMPAIGN. THE CLOTHES ARE A STATEMENT, AND ANYONE CAN HAVE ACCESS TO THIS COLLECTION. MISSGUIDED DOESN'T EXCLUDE ANYONE’S BEAUTY AND THEY PROVIDE A RANGE THAT ISN’T LIKE ANYTHING ELSE. THE CLOTHES ARE FEARLESS AND JUST IN A FEW EXTRA SIZES. THE COLLECTION CAN LET YOU BE A BADASS B*TCH WITHOUT AN ASTERISK OR A LABEL."

As such, Ferreira's Missguided+ campaign is completely unretouched. The clothes, heavily made up of holiday party favorites, fit her just as they’re supposed to, with each piece representing Missguided's sexy, trend-driven design DNA. This, of course, is exactly the point: "It's time to get ahead of the curve and just give women the freedom to dress however they want," noted the release.
