Rumors have been circulating for weeks that it's Lady Gaga who is slated to play Donatella Versace in the forthcoming third season of FX's "American Crime Story," and now, it looks like they have some credence.
On Friday, Us Weekly confirmed via "a source" that Gaga will, in fact, portray Versace's current creative director for a 10-episode installment focused on the July 1997 murder of Donatella's brother and the house's founder, Gianni Versace, at his Miami Beach home by serial killer Andrew Cunanan. (In a comment provided to Fashionista, a rep for FX said: "No casting deals have been done yet.") "Versace/Cunanan: American Crime Story" will air after the second, Hurricane Katrina-centric season, and reportedly begins filming in early 2017.

The casting choice makes sense: Not only is Gaga a favorite of executive producer Ryan Murphy — she starred in the fifth season of his "American Horror Story," "Hotel" — but she's beloved but Donatella herself. They attended both the 2016 Met Gala and 2014 Vanity Fair Oscar Party (pictured above) as dates. Looks like this is going to be good.
